Made up of more than twenty nationalities, gathered around one table in the heart of Helsinki.
St Nicholas' is the mother congregation of the Anglican Chaplaincy in Finland, part of the Church of England's Diocese in Europe. Our services are conducted in English and follow the liturgy of the Church of England.
We exist to worship God, to grow as followers of Jesus Christ, and to welcome and serve all people — whatever their background, nationality or stage on the journey of faith.
"We welcome people of all denominations — and any who are just starting out on, or returning to, the journey of faith. There is a place for you here."

St Nicholas' traces its roots to Anglicans who fled the Russian Revolution — from St Petersburg to Vyborg, and on to Helsinki, where the first recorded Anglican service in Finland was held in 1923. The cross and altar plate we still use came with them from the English Church in St Petersburg.
Today we are the mother congregation of the Anglican Chaplaincy in Finland, part of the Church of England's Diocese in Europe. Through the Porvoo agreement with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, we are warmly hosted at Mikael Agricola Church — a landmark red-brick church in Punavuori, designed by Lars Sonck in the 1930s.
Join us for the Sung Eucharist at 10:00, and stay for coffee afterwards.
